Elizabeth Anne Sumrall passed away peacefully at home in Destin, Florida on Wednesday September 14, 2016. She was a loving mother, mother in law, grandmother and friend to many. She was the daughter of the late Henry R. White and Sadie Sheppard White and was born in New Orleans Louisiana on June 8, 1940. She was pre deceased in death by her husband George Alexander Sumrall who passed away in the service of our country on November 11, 1979. Liz is survived by her son John and beloved daughter in law Kelley and her three amazing grandsons Banks Alexander Sumrall, John Coleman Sumrall and McDaniel David Sumrall all of Blue Mountain Beach, Florida.

Liz grew up in Prichard, Alabama and graduated from Vigor High School in 1959. As a young lady she was active in her church where she played the piano and organ. Her first job was as an administrative assistant for the Air Force at Brookley Field in Mobile. Liz moved to Atlanta in 1969 where she continued her career as an administrative assistant with General Mills. As those who knew her know, Liz had extraordinary taste. Her flair for design led her into new construction decorating first for Marchman & Sons and later for John Cowart Homes. Her personal home in Dunwoody was published in Colonial Homes magazine. Eventually Liz become a very successful realtor with Jenny Pruitt & Associates. In 1998 she moved to Destin where her real estate career continued to blossom often times being ranked as one of the areas top agents. She enjoyed people and continued to work daily with an extraordinary level of energy. The greatest compliment to her was the number of repeat customers she had.

Liz loved her family and loved her work. She stayed very close to her aunts, uncles and cousins in the Mobile area. She never met a stranger and would offer help to anyone often saying "there but for the grace of God go I". We will miss her and we are who we are today because of her. We know because of her unwavering faith we will see her again.

Services will be held on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Destiny Worship Center 122 Ponciana Boulevard Destin, Florida 32550. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
